We will have a pick up choir the first Sunday of each month.  Everyone is welcome to come at 9:20 am and join together to sing for the worship service.  There will be opportunities on: July 6th, August 3rd and September 7th.  Hope many of you wil join your voices in praise.

Let's plan to again ring our bell chimes as a special musical offering on
July 27.  Please tell Carolyn that you are interested in being part of the group who brings special music to the congregation.  Our two "ringings" last year were lots of fun and very well received by the congregation.  We will practice for a brief time twice before our "performance."  Looking forward to having many youth and adults ring to God's praise!

Mothers Morning Out = Young mothers are often confined to a few rooms by the needs of young children.  We now have two youngsters among us and want to provide a break for their mothers.  If you would be willing to back up a staff member and hold a baby or play with a toddler, let Jan know.  A child psychologist will attend once a month to answer questions about normal development. Time and morning to be arranged. Let Jan know of any young mother who would like a break.

Spiritual Eldering = Using the book From Ageing to Sageing, join this group in exploring a profound new vision of growing older.  The format of interactive exercises shows you how to create a radically different aging process characterized by adventure, passion, mystery and fulfillment.  By harnessing the power of the Spirit, the text gives you the ways to use your life experiences to nuture, heal and perhaps save both a younger generation and this world.  See Jan for a time and day.

Process Theology = What might the emerging church look like? Where is the intersection of faith and culture in today's worlds?  In process thought there is always a "call forward". If any of these ideas are calling you.  Let Jan know.  Three people have already done so.  The next challenge is a date and time.

Dancing And Praying To The Oldies = It's always more fun and meaningful in a group.  We pray a little, move a lot and laugh, laugh, laugh. Need to recover from a cold, icy winter both physically and spiritually.  Come join us.  Does 6 PM on Thursday before choir work for you?  Let Jan know.  A licensed physical therapist will supervise.

Be a Silent Samaritan. Plant a seed & Help Someone Grow. The ?seeds of love' will help women right in our own neighborhoods who ar struggling financially & emotionally to cope with daily challenges.  You can become a Silent Samaritan with your tax deductible check, made payable to the Samaritan Counseling Center, 690 Oak Street, Winnetka, IL. 60093.  Pastor Jan will be the featured speaker at a special luncheon to be held April 8th at the home of Kay Benson in Winnetka.

Six young people will be confirmed on May 11th.  A new Confirmation Class is forming.  It will start to meet this summer and look forward to Confirmation in May of 2009.  If you have grandchildren, friends or relatives who might be interested in having a child confirmed please see Jan Smith.

We will have a less formal service on the second Sunday of every month, and then we will have an activity after the service that the whole family can enjoy together.

HOMESHARING in the Northern Suburbs.
Interfaith Housing Center matches individuals who have a spare bedroom with people who are looking for affordable housing near their employment.  We try to create "win-win" situations helping homeowners to supplement their incomes or remain independent in their homes by matching them with people who can offer both rent and possibly assistance with light chores.  The Homesharing program is a free service.  Please contact Homesharing Coordinator, Jacqueline Grossmann at (847) 50l -5732, x401 or Jackie@interfaithhousingcenter.org or visit our website: www.interfaithhousingcenter.org
