The three part training will be on January 7th, 12th & 30th Fair Trade Coffee For The World. Micah 6:8 calls us, as Christians, to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly. The Fair Trade Coffee Project helps us answer that call by righting the injustices faced by small-scale farmers around the world. The Coffee Project closes the gap between our church and the kind of communities in which the UCC works. By using Fair Trade coffee and other products in our congregations and home, we can guarantee that farmers will earn the income they need to feed their families, educate their children, seek medical care and improve their communities. Equal Exchange's mission is to build long-term trade partnerships that are economically just and environmentally sound to foster mutually beneficial relations between farmers and consumers and to demonstrate, through our success, the viability of worker co-operatives and Fair Trade. Many adult members of our community need help improving basic reading, writing or speaking skills. The VITA Program of Oakton Community College in Skokie needs tutors.
